behind 'pottery by justine'…
I began my pottery journey in 2021 in Leslieville, Toronto. It’s true when they say you will never forget your first - and here I mean, my first class and my first instructor. The way the clay was being molded by my hands, how much focus the wheel demanded, and how interactive and engaging my instructor was. All it usually takes is just one class.
I had a feeling pottery was the start of something big for me. It’s not only a way to slow down and reconnect with a part of the earth, it’s about getting lost in the joy of creating. Simply just playing with clay. The magical thing is to see it come to life and be used in daily living: a bowl of cereal for your breakfast in the morning or a vase holding the fresh flowers you bought at the farmer’s market. These moments are what I hope for every individual who owns a piece I’ve created - from my experiences to you.
Thank you for being a part of my pottery journey as I continue to learn and grow.
Thank you for supporting handmade.
